In the spirit of our values to change people’s lives for the better every day, Futura SA is proud to be involved with the Gwiliza family foundation. Gwiliza Funeral Parlours was established in 1974 by the Gwiliza family in Mount Frere and later relocated to Mthatha. In giving gratitude for the community’s support to Gwiliza Funeral Parlours over 40 years the family found it only appropriate to establish a foundation that will benefit the community in several ways. The late Mr Gwiliza was very passionate about educating children.

Two of the main beneficiaries of the foundation is the Norwood primary school and the Sabelani Football club. The Norwood primary school is in desperate need of computer equipment a library, bigger classes etc. The youth in Norwood has formed a football club in the year 2000 that plays at the Sabelani Sports Fields on Third avenue. This is an initiative by the Catholic Church to keep the youth off the streets and away from unproductive behaviours. Kids from the age of 6 to 21 play in four different age categories.

On 2 December 2014 FuturaSA together with Nwabisa Gwiliza visited the Sabelani Football club in Mthata. We handed over two sets of complete football kit. The Sabelani football club’s main goal is to qualify to play in a proper soccer league in 2015. They need all the help they can get. We hope with our partners to assist them to achieve this goal.

Should you wish to support the Norwood Primary School or Sabelani Football club kindly contact Awie de Swardt for more details.
